Are you inside or outside?

Are you able to try using the internal antenna? (the GPS would need to be outside for this.)

When the GPS first boots up, can you check the lines shown in bold below, see if you get the same.

  1. You will need to have the BerryGPS-IMU not connected to the Pi
  2. kills GPSD sudo killall gpsd
  3. view /dev/serial0
    cat /dev/serial0
    or
    minicom -b 9600 -o -D /dev/serial0
  4. Connect BerryGPS-IMU to the Pi
  5. The lines below should appear somewhere at the start
<strong>$GNTXT,01,01,02,ANTSTATUS=INIT*3B</strong>
$GNRMC,,V,,,,,,,,,,N*4D
$GNVTG,,,,,,,,,N*2E
$GNGGA,,,,,,0,00,99.99,,,,,,*56
$GNGSA,A,1,,,,,,,,,,,,,99.99,99.99,99.99*2E
$GNGSA,A,1,,,,,,,,,,,,,99.99,99.99,99.99*2E
$GPGSV,1,1,00*79
$GLGSV,1,1,00*65
$GNGLL,,,,,,V,N*7A
<strong>$GNTXT,01,01,02,ANTSTATUS=OK*25</strong>
$GNRMC,,V,,,,,,,,,,N*4D

Can you also confirm that the nut on the back of the SMA connector is screwed tight
