    when using an iPhone for gyro measurements it will give steady accx accy and accz.

    but with the berry using the berryimusimple.py the readings are noisy.

    and the Z reading is zero.

    are these kaman filters etc are applied on iPhone gyro already?

    Even IMUs on the iPhone create noise, the iPhone is using filters to filter this out. They are a large company and can spend millions of dollars on code to get the best results.

    If you google “smartphone accelerometer noise”, you will get a lot of results which explain this.

    I want to use the berryimu to measure the swing movements in a caravan towed by a car.

    usefull application for the berryimu?

    commercial devices are there to buy.
    but want my own to build 🤣🤣

    Yes, this is possible.   You would use the compass to measure YAW
