I am trying to interface this device’s gps with SignalK and/or openCPN, both modules of the well-know openplotter nautical application, running on rpi-3 and 4.
I have tried both serial and I2C. Basically, I can get the messages, but not useful information for any of my available tools.
I have tried also following the instruction shown at https://ozzmaker.com/accessing-gps-via-i2c-on-a-berrygps-imu, using the first python script. I can get “clear NMEA sentences” but not useful information for positionin.
Example: gpsmon starts an shows the frame and the boxes, as well as NMEA sentences at the bottom of the frame, but no other information (see pic).
SignalK can configured inputs from serial or gpsd (at port 2947). In both cases, I can see the messages flowing, but can get any useful info.
OpenCPN can received info from SignlK (preferred) or direcly from serial. In the last case, I can see NMEA sentences (identically as if looking at the /dev/serial0) but my boat is not following any position.
What I am doing wrong?
Thanks a lot in advance for your support.
Jose Luis

is the GPS module or the external antenna outside with clear access to sky? (inside near a window sometimes does not work)Mark --OzzMaker.com --
