Hi,
I have got my BerryGPS up and running all good – however, when I try and boot it up away from a wifi signal, I don’t seem to get any green position indicating LED –
Does the unite have to have connection to wifi? I assumed that this maybe something to do with internal clocks – but noticed that the unit does have a battery, so assumed it would keep a record of time and last known position etc?
Thanks, Andrew

No Wifi needed. and you are right, the SuperCap will store some GPS data for a few hours.
This would mean, if you have a GPS fix (led blinking) and power off the device and move it outside of Wifi range (or shut wifi down). when you power up the BerryGPS, it should only take a minute or two to get a GPS fix again (as long as it is within a few kilometers from where it last had a fix). The device would even get a GPS fix if you powered only with a 3.3v power supply. no need for a microcontroller.
Are you testing outside with clear access to sky?Mark

Thanks for coming back to me, yes, trying with clear skies and actually, I think I probably posted a little hastily, as it did seem to get a position eventually. Thanks for the advice!
