The touchscreen shows no images and sends no touch events whatsoever.

Even after setting it to display the console, and when trying to display the test logo image, I can see nothing on the screen.

Neither the calibration program, nor evtest can receive any touch events from the screen.

I have a feeling that the screen unit itself is defective, as even when the backlight is on, I need to push the screen up from its bottom edge before the light actually comes on, as shown in this video I took.
